{"id":182,"date":"2015-12-07T18:15:06","date_gmt":"2015-12-07T18:15:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost\/mob.ligne9.info\/?p=182"},"modified":"2016-01-04T02:59:55","modified_gmt":"2016-01-04T02:59:55","slug":"fermeture-et-blocage-dune-valve-a-sainte-justine-de-newton","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/localhost\/mob.ligne9.info\/en\/2015\/12\/07\/fermeture-et-blocage-dune-valve-a-sainte-justine-de-newton\/","title":{"rendered":"Activists block reversal of Enbridge Line 9 pipeline at the border of Ontario and Quebec"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/148414135\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"_5yl5\"><strong>Official press release of the action :<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"_5yl5\">7 December 2015 (Ste-Justine-de-Newton, 21950 Morrison Road) \u2013 Concerned activists are blocking the valve of a section of the Line 9B pipeline at the border of Ontario and Quebec in order to stop the reversal of the Enbridge pipeline that has recently begun in order to bring crude oil from western Canada to Montreal.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The authorization of this pipeline, contrary to popular opposition against tar sands and promises from the new federal government to replace the evaluation process for pipeline projects, is unacceptable.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"_5yl5\">The Enbridge Line 9 project puts the health of millions of people in Quebec and Ontario at risk by threatening the drinking water of numerous communities. The community of Aamjiwnaan, situated in Sarnia, Ontario at the start of Line 9, is impacted by the worst air quality in the country as a result of the dozens of refineries on their territory.
